Suddendly the valley opens wide and you see the village of Pisang (3000m). As the upper part of the valley lies north of the Himalayan range, the humid monsum clouds from the south seldom
reach it, so that it is a dry land.
The houses are build in Tibetan style with flat roofs. To avoid the very cold wind in winter they are clustered together
From Pisang you can go either directly to Manang or take the high trail to Gyaru and Ngwal. The later will take about half a day longer, but gives you splendid views on the
Annapurna 2 and 4. It also a perfect way for a better acclimatisation
The North face of the Annapurna II rising nearly 5000 m in the sky. One feels very small and humble when staying before one of these enormous mountains
