Nepal, Trekking round Annapurna: Jomsom Compared to Kagbeni or the lower villages, Jomsom is not really special. You will find the administration for the mustang district and more important the airport, which is only suited for little STOL (Short Take OFF and Landing) planes.
Inside the little Stol planes one feels like in the older times. They are pretty narrow and very noisy. The planes are flying far below the mountains, so that you will not see many of them, but sometimes its a spectacular 20 min flight. When there are turbulences you feel like an rodeo-cowboy, Coming from Pokhara, the first sight of the Nilgiri is just breathtaking
